Asamoah Gyan will never forget the 2nd July 2010. In the last second of extra time, the last kick of the game before the drama of a penalty shoot out, Gyan was due to take a penalty which would have seen Ghana through to the Semi Finals and make a whole continent rejoice. After Luis Suarez’ hand ball on the goal line, Gyan stepped up to take a penalty. Having already scored two so far, you had to feel that Africa was about to erupt in joy and emotion. But Gyan went for power, and smashed the crossbar. Much similair to John Terrys infamous penalty miss in the Champions League Final of 2008 , Gyan had blown it. The weight of Africa on his shoulders, he could not convert the penalty. The inevitable penalty shoot out followed and misses from two Ghanians (including a 20 year old) meant Uruguay won 4-2 on penalties.

After struggling through the opening 20 minutes, Ghana came into the game and started playing some exceptional football. Boateng was sensational and Uruguay were shaken. It looked like it would be 0-0 at the break but one of the goals of the tournament from Sulley Muntari meant Africa rejoiced, and Ghana led 1-0. Joy turned to devestation though, as Diego Forlan’s wonderful free kick in the 55th minute levelled the match. That was the moment which turned this game into one of the, if not the, game of the tournament. Suarez had chances in the following minutes and the game was as open as anything but with the score at 1-1, extra time awaited. Ghana seemed to have a burst of energy in extra time as Gyan had two chances to score but wasted one, and the other was blocked. Penalties seemed inevitable, but in the dying seconds one of the most extraordinary moments of the tournament happened. A great free kicki whipped into the box was met by the feet of Appiah, Suarez cleared off the line but a header from Adiyah looked like winning it, until Luis Suarez cleared off the line again, this time with his hands. A red card and penalty followed and every single neutral in the world held the breath as Gyan stepped up for the penalty, and then every single neutral in the world let out a collective gasp as Gyan hit the crossbar. The tears of a continent followed, as Uruguay won the penalty shoot out. But this will always be remembered as the evening when Asamoah Gyan, quite simply, blew it.

MCCP monthly activity stats show a sad state of affairs

If ytou thought MCCP was dying, then you were absolutely right. Dracos ‘Monthly activity stats’ thread shows a sorry state of affairs at MCCP, a dreadful 53,523 posts have been made so far in 2010, thats less than the opening the month the forums were open. The month of June has seen our highest monthly post count of the year, but most of that has surely come from Spam Land (BBSP) As soon as BBSP closes it could very well be the end, the fact is MCCP is staring down the barrel of disaster. Is there anyway to cure this terminal downfall? Maybe. Lets face it, BBSP has flopped. I was certainly expecting a much bigger inflation in posts but it has not happened. Lack of users? Lack of good threads? Too many noobs? All of these factors contribute to MCCP’s downfall. For some reason, we are not encouraging enough new (decent) members. Instead we get underaged fools who join and then are banned after a day for one reason or another. It makes me woefully sad to write this but in my opinion there is no cure for this. MCCP is dying, and is very nearly dead.

BBSP was supposed to catapult this forum back onto the main stage, instead it has made decent users upset and angry at the unfair targeting they have been subjected to by elder members. BBSP has flopped, the one forum that could end the downfall has failed. It makes me incredibly frustrated to see good ideas for Forums like Projectmatts idea, The Mole- http://penguinforum.miniclip.com/showthread.php?t=90007 being blatantly ignored. And my World Cup Forum being rejected “the olympics only happens once every four years but no one wanted a forum for that” Umm, maybe that because NO ONE ASKED FOR ONE? Why aren’t these forums just given a bloody chance instead of being shunned for no reason. Its a shambles and MCCP needs a dusting down. Dare we campaign for The Mole idea? Revolt against the mods like the French National team? MCCP needs to get back on its feet, and fast. But for me, the long road is near its end. It may be a very slow and painful summer. This summer is make or break.

BBSP- Has it lost its magic?

I remember the first time Big Boards Stimulus Package opened, to be honest I was quite confused about how it worked. They were actually asking us to spam? After years of telling us not to and that it is against the rules? I couldn’t wuite believe it, but I saw how other people were doinbg and I went along with it. Contributing to the spam forum with things like “Rate this thread terrible” and “post itt and get a mango” it was fun, while it lasted. The second time it came around and we were more aquainted with how it worked, we were having fun like never before and not to mention, getting higher and higher in the Big boards rankings. This time the forum was left open for longer, I think it was nearly a week, and it started to die down, people ran out of ideas about what to post and threads started becoming less and less funny, and just plain annoying. Dracophile did us all a favour and closed the damn thing, only to return it for a Haloween special a few months later. Another surge up the Big Boards rankings duly came, but the Spam forum was starting to lose its magic. More pointless and down right ridicolous threads were popping up and these bad habits were being picked up in other forums, it was time to put BBSP were it belonged, in the Archive.

The fourth time, and this time BBSP returns for a “Save MCCP” Edition. Pokerman appears to have become the center of attention, for all the wrong reasons, and there appears to be a sense of desperation around this one. It has been kept open since Wednesday and looks like staying for the week, by that time I’m sure I won’t be the only one who is getting just a little bit tired of it. I have always thought that BBSP should only be opened once every while, for only a day or two, because thats were the real fun and magic comes. Its losts it magic, its been kept open for too long and its time to wave goodbye. I mean, if we can have a spam forum then why can’t we have any other user generated ideas as forums? The threadsare becoming boring and repetitive and its time to put BBSP back in the archive, while there is still a little bit of originality in bringing it back next time.

Now of course, most of you will comment saying “hey lighten up a little” but to be perfectly honest, my opinion is BBSP has lost its funa dn spark, I’m bored of it and I just hope it is going to be put out of its misery soon.

Seriously, biggest mistake of my life. I’d heard about the video and watched reactions to it which were hillarious but when my friends forced me to sit down and watch it, I didn’t find anything funny. I was sick in my OWN mouth and have never seen anything so disgusting in my whole life.

MCCP: Why I HAD to leave.

I would feel like a hypocrite if I sat here and said “I left because of all the mean users” because the fact is, I was very, very mean to Sebastian. I know his history on the forum and I still believe my post was completely truthful but my reputation has been ripped to shreds by that one rush of blood- yes I do care about my reputation on the Forums, reputation and popularity are different in my eyes as long as people think and remember me as a good user and a good laugh then I’m happy. Theres nothing I can do about it now, I pressed the post button, at first lots of people were chatting to me and saying things like “Well done, I agree with you.” But now, ever since a few “well known” users said things like “thats mean” and shit like that all of my support is gone. No one is standing up for me like they were when I first posted that, just because of the popular people. Its not Sebastian who has made me leave it is a lot of things, that post was really all of my rage that I have contained in MCCP just pouring out of me,I was actually very surprised at the support I got through people and I thought that everyone would back me up, but no, once again the flock followed and once again the unknown user is left with nothing.

Is my leave permanent? Definetaly not. I may be back sooner than you think, but I will be gone for at least a fortnight. this is something I just have to do. When I return it may just to be to say an offical goodbye or it may be to stay for a while. Who knows? But right know I really could do without MCCP in my life.

MCCP: Part 1 of an in-depth anylaysis of why it is dying

Its hard to say when MCCP started plummeting in acitivity. The combination of legendary users like Caution! and Ziek leaving, more users joining just to make a nuisance and elders generally not respecting the new user have all contributed to making MCCP, not just a dying forum, but a very unpleasant place to be for those who wish to escape the outside world. The downfall in activity comes as no surprise to and elder like me, never have I seen MCCP users being so unfriendly and turning against each other. MCCP is no longer the big happy family we once thought it was, it is a dark, cruel and unfriendly place to be in. Its killing me to type this but it is what most of us are thinking, it is what most of us know. How can we have a good time on MCCP when certain moderators spoil the fun? Closing hillarious threads like “Worst posters of 2009- Zixty8+ all his alt accounts” Yes the majority of it was spam, but in all honesty who actually gives a shit anymore?

If Dracophile doesn’t want our forums to die then banning people is surely not the way to go about it. What is the point of infractions is a question that regulary pops up in my head when I see someone who is appealing their infraction. All infractions do these days is chase people away, not bring them closer. Infractions have also caused problems between the user and the mod, the user believes they have wrongly been given an infraction whereas the mod believes he/she is right. What happens? An argument. Thats what happens, the user loses faith in the moderator and the wider community of MCCP loses faith in the moderator, the user and the mod who could be good friends fall out and the infraction has caused it. 5 infractions and you’re gone is the rule these days- Again why ban great users like Flame? What good will it do for MCCP? Absolutely none. Sp what am I suggesting? Abolish the infraction concept? No, but loosen the rules, a lot. Draco should tell the mods to only give infractions for severe offences and give out warnings 8 times out of 10.

The new user, and why he never appears- In the old days MCCP would get at least one new user every day, nowadays its about one every week. Why is this? A number of factors once again contribute to this, people who are legally allowed on the forum (13+) generally don’t play Club Penguin anymore so have no way of finding out about the forums. But lets not piss about here, we all know the main reason and that main reason is that MCCP is not a friendly place to be anymore. We don’t welcome new users like we use to- we ignore them. Face it, and its not just the new user that is overlooked it is the user that is not well known. The horrible concept of “popularity” has taken over MCCP and now only a select few people have people reading their replies, chatting to them on MSN and replying to their threads. The others, are simply ignored or not taken seriously. Bad grammar? Your considered to be a noob by the “popular” people, the flock follow the popular people and consider you a noob as well. Argument with a “popular” person? The “popular” person wins, no matter how right you are the flock stand up for the “popular” person and you are laughed at. I have the privelage of being one of the few people who have been at MCCP since the start and guess what? No one knows me. I am not a “popular” folk nor amI one of the flock, why is this? Because I am not afraid to have my own opinions and stand up to the popular folk? Because I was a noob when I first joined? Or because I’m too shy on the forums? To be honest, I don’t know, I’ve never known why I am not “higher up” on MCCP. But thats life, I’m not popular, and I’m fucking glad.

So it looks like I’ve reached a new low, I’ve got a fucking WordPress! Would you believe it? I certainly wouldn’t, but you know these things happen and I look forward to writing on this thing. I’m not particulary sure what I actually do on this thing but I believe I’m meant to bore all of you with blogs and stuff. Sucks to be you, huh? Oh, I haven’t untroduced myself for you paedophiles who are on here! I be none other than Leelad999, that guy who changed his sig yesterday, that guy who likes mangoes, that guy…well I think you get the message…stalkers. So- why do I have a WordPress? Hmm, no real reason actually, I was bored, its Christmas Holidays and Zixty has one so why can’t I? Will this blog or whatever you call it be interesting? Probably not, but you know, none of these things are, are they? Lets face it, us saddos that have one of these, no one actually reads it word for word… well except the stalkers o.O These things are pretty shitty, but I’m just going to see how it goes.

I should probably include something here which makes you want to come back…so…umm…come back and…umm…get a cookie?
